I remember coming here when this place first opened and was so excited to return recently! The environment is very industrial but filed with airiness and light. There is ample seating, whether that be at the coffee bar, individual tables, the couch or the benches in the back. The baristas were friendly and efficient. While the gritty sandwich was absolutely delicious (perfectly crispy with a deliciously crunchy roll), the egg sandwich was a bit of a letdown. The bread was tasty, but the sauce on the egg was so intense that it tasted like straight sriracha with no other flavor profiles. I would definitely return here if I was in the neighborhood.

Went on a Sunday around lunchtime and it was packed!! Ambiance of the space is amazing! Space is pretty big with plants and gets lots of natural sunlight. Has couch area, counter seating and tables. Staff are all young and friendly. My friend ordered ginger later and gritty khang sando both of which she enjoyed a lot! My bf and I ordered the works banh mi, tamarind fries, corn tea, salted brulee ca phe, and at the last second was recommended the fried rice by the cashier. The fried rice actually ended up being my favorite! So flavorful, like a big hug, and I didn't want to stop eating it. Tamarind also were good, had a nice tangy taste to them. The banh mi was less impressive, nothing too special just had Chinese sausage on top, not as incorporated as I thought it would be. Corn tea looked like it was just steeped from bag that you could buy at your local Korean store, but the viet coffee had a very good flavor.

Located in Kensington a block from the Tioga station on the MFL, this Vietnamese coffee and roastery is a spot always worth visiting! It was on my to-visit list for months, and met all expectations. The space is very open, with table, bar, and couch seating that's often occupied on weekends due to its popularity. I visited with three friends, and personally got the Gritty Matcha and Sunny's Hot Sando. The double espresso in the matcha will wake you up, but the drink was absolutely delicious and not overly sweet compared to most American-style matchas. My sandwich was also flavorful and a manageable level of spice. It was a bit saucier than I'd like, but the Chinese sausage and eggs were a very filling portion--you get your baguette's worth. Their bread is also all vegan (but not gluten-free). We shared the Tamarind Fries, which had a great balance between salty and savory. It's shared well with their signature Condensed Milk Soft Serve, which was a great dessert after our brunch. An excellent experience that I loved and will definitely revisit to try more of their menu!

Really nice Vietnamese coffee shop! It's always packed and for good reason. The food is delicious -- any of the banh mis are good and the one with the eggs is super satisfying. The coffee drinks are all tasty and sweet. Be prepared though to not be able to find a spot since this place is poppin all the time!

Càphê Roasters is a Vietnamese specialty coffee roastery with some unique Vietnamese American fusion food/snacks. It is a hip and aesthetic space that has a cozy atmosphere, despite being in the middle of Kensington. There is a good amount of seating in the cafe if people want to do work or study. It is a popular spot, so service kind of depends on that but from my visit, it did not take too long for my order to come out. I arrived after their kitchen closed, so I was only able to order drinks. I got the Salted Brûlée Cà Phê which is basically a typical Vietnamese coffee with a salted cream cold foam and torched brown sugar on top. The drink was really delicious! It was sweet, but also had the quintessential strong coffee flavor that is present in many Vietnamese coffee drinks. I have not had the opportunity to try their food, but I would come back because their food sounds really creative and good!

I love the atmosphere of this cafe; it has a cozy, homey vibe. Both times I've been, they have always been super packed with people studying, hanging out, or just placing a to-go order so you're lucky if you can grab a seat. I'm not sure how often they change out their regular menu and specials but the menu looked quite different between the first time I went and the most recent time I went, which had been about a year. So, unfortunately, some of the items I'm commenting on are not currently available but, hopefully, they'll bring some of them back! If you're not familiar with the area, it's in the Kensington area, which is a bit unsafe so just be aware of your surroundings. But I've never had any issues when I visited. Food and Drink Ordered: * worth trying - [Cherry Yuzu Cobbler]: Not sure if I liked it or not, but it was really interesting. Not too sweet or too tart. You could really taste each componment. The black peppercorn biscuit was interesting because you wouldn't typically think to pair it with the cherry and yuzu but it worked. - [Iced Matcha Mode*]: I really liked this drink. You could tell that the matcha was really good quality. To the point where I want to go to Princeton to visit the Junbi cafe. The drink was a perfect combination of lemon juice, matcha, and simple syrup and wasn't too tart, bitter, or sweet. And you can tell that the lemon juice was freshly squeezed. - [Ba Ngoai's Porridge (cup)*]: I liked this a lot. It's hearty and has everything I enjoy about congee. Also, love that good peppercorn bite at the end and the additional texture from the kabocha squash. - [Khang's Special Banh Mi*]: This was amazing. The flavors and textures of the gochu glazed fried chicken, paté, and fried eggs worked together in perfect harmony. The chicken was a smidge dry but, because everything else was so good, it was something easy to look past. - [XO Egg Sando]: The sandwich was very ok but the eggs were really fluffy and Ba Le bread is always a good time. I wish I could have tasted the XO seafood aoili more. - [Iced Matcha Latte*]: Like I said with the Iced Matcha Mode, the matcha is good so of course the matcha latte would be good. - [Roasted Pineapple Com Chien (Fried Rice)*]: A lot of good wok hei flavor and I liked all of the different ingredients together. It is a very good, heaping portion. - [Buko Pandan Coffee Cake]: I thought it was pleasantly fragrant from the pandan but I probably wouldn't order again. It is unique but didn't wow me. - [Kumquat & Pandan Tra Da (Iced Tea)]: I liked the flavor of the iced tea but thought it was too sweet. - [Salted Thai Tea*]: I barely tasted the salted foam but I love a good Thai tea brewed with real Thai tea leaves. Would I go back? : Overall, I think that Càphê Roasters is a 3.5 because I didn't love everything I've tried but I rounded up my star rating because the cafe is such a vibe and worth checking out. I do think serving all the food items in to-go packaging even if you dine in does cheapen the experience a little bit. And I probably am not able to fully appreciate the offerings of the cafe because I'm not a coffee drinker. Keep an eye on their Instagram (@capheroasters) for any new specials because the online menu sometimes isn't updated with that information.

Really enjoyed my experience at Caphe Roasters. Around 11:30am on a Sunday it was pretty crowded and there was a short line at the register. I ordered an iced coffee, a iced chai, and two tofu banh mis. We were able to grab one of the tables in the back cause it was the last place left to sit. There were people on laptops working, families eating, and friends chatting. The vibes were great as I sipped my drink. My iced coffee was really good, the condensed milk made it milky and sweet. I thought the iced chai was sweet and spicy. Our banh mis took about 10 minutes but when they came out they were nice and toasty. These banh mis were very saucy so be prepared with napkins. The bread was soft and a little crispy. The veggies were pickled perfectly and the tofu was a great consistency. One of my favorite banh mis I've had! Would highly recommend this spot and I can't wait to come back.

Wow, going to Kensington just for this cafe was so worth it. I had never been to the neighboring before but read so many good things about this cafe that had to make a trip out of it. They have incredible lattes - very unique combinations that aren't easy to find at least in Philly. The matcha float with condensed milk ice cream was probably the best thing I have had in a while. The Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea latte were great too. We loved their condensed milk ice cream (not to be missed) so much that we decided to add it to the Thai tea latte as well to make it even better. The Sunny's Hot Sando was mouth watering and we also found the Grandma's Porridge quite satisfying. Definitely getting the sando next time too. It was so fascinating to see the people on the street outside the cafe and people sitting inside - worlds apart.

One of the best Cafes that I've been to that has both good food and drinks as well as space to study. During lunch time (11am on a Saturday) it can be difficult to find a seat. Food: Sunny hot Sando - lots of Egg and it was very flavorful! Has a kick with the spice but very delicious. Gritty Khang Sando - is a classic sandwich that I would get Everytime. Lots of flavor but also very savory. A must get. Egg Coffee -tasted similarly to when I went to Vietnam. Creamy but also strong! Seasonal: Watermelon Ice Tea - delicious! Sweet but also very refreshing! A must come!

Salted crème brûlée drink and coco matchamisu latte are the drinks I had. I loved both but the salted crème takes the cake. It didn't have too much salt and both drinks were flavorful. The slightly burned flavor came out well for the salted crème. Was able to have a friend take me here. I also enjoyed sampling the classic banh mi from my friend (I believe I had) and their Sunny's hot Sandi. Sunny's wasn't bad but the chicken banh mi both of us felt just worked better for the overall sandwich. The place is packed as it is warm, pleasant, and a clean ambiance inside despite the neighborhood it is located in. This business supports local organizations that help support the neighborhood they are located in. Much props for good food and hard work.
